How to Make Festive Holiday Balls Out of Any Cookie or Booze You Have | Food Hacks with Claire

– The holidays give us carte blanche to consume copious amounts
of both booze and sugar, but I like to streamline the
process with a boozy ball. You’ve probably heard of rum balls, which are a combination
of crushed cookies, pulverized pecans, and rum. But any booze can be a ball. And they don’t require
any setting, chilling, or baking time, which
means you can make them for that potluck you forgot
you agreed to attend. The first thing we’re gonna do is prepare our dry ingredients, which means we’re gonna
pulverize these cookies and crush these nuts to make our balls. Any combination of cookie,
nut, and alcohol will work. You just need about three cups of crumbs, one cup of crushed nuts,
three ounces of sweetener, and three ounces of booze. Since I’m gonna be using my BFF, gin, I’ve gone with a lemon cookie
and a nice macadamia nut. Now we’re ready to pour this
into our dry ingredients. If you don’t feel that honey
is the correct sweetener for your ball, you can use
agave, you can use molasses, you can use a flavored
simple syrup, all will work. Now we’re ready to coat these round boys. So you just wanna take little pinches, roll it into small ball,
and toss it in the sugar. Ooh! That’s gotta kick. That doesn’t work.
